Jessica Tavares

Tribal Chairperson

Jessica Tavares is serving her seventh term as Tribal Chairperson of the United Auburn Indian Community after being re-elected in February 2007. Jessica also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Thunder Valley Casino.

As a result of her leadership as Chairwoman, the Auburn Tribe successfully re-established their federal recognition through the 103rd Congress of the United States’ passage of the Auburn Indian Restoration Act.

In addition, Jessica was responsible for overseeing the development of Thunder Valley Casino, cumulating in its grand opening on June 3, 2003.

Jessica is married and has five children. She is a lifelong resident of Placer County.
