A Sacramento blood bank has received a $75,000 donation from the United Auburn Indian Community so it can purchase a bloodmobile for use in Placer County. The award to BloodSource is part of the tribe's contributions each quarter of about $200,000 to charities serving Placer County.

The United Auburn Indian Community owns and operates Thunder Valley Casino near Lincoln, enabling it to make the quarterly contributions to service groups, organizations and schools.

Other awards this month went to Sierra Family Services, $25,000; Alta Vista Elementary School's science and nature program, $23,000; and Rocklin Elementary School's program for scholarly enhancement, $20,000.

Disabled Sports USA received $18,000, Placer County's multidisciplinary interview center received $17,262 and the Forest Foundation and Antelope Creek Elementary School received $10,000 each. Sierra Preschool Parent Co-op received $2,000.
