Blood bank gets donation

A Sacramento blood bank has received a $75,000 donation from the
United Auburn Indian Community so it can purchase a bloodmobile for use
in Placer County. The award to BloodSource is part of the tribe's
contributions each quarter of about $200,000 to charities serving
Placer County.
The United Auburn Indian Community owns and operates Thunder Valley
Casino near Lincoln, enabling it to make the quarterly contributions to
service groups, organizations and schools.
Other awards this month went to Sierra Family Services, $25,000; Alta
Vista Elementary School's science and nature program, $23,000; and
Rocklin Elementary School's program for scholarly enhancement,
$20,000.
Disabled Sports USA received $18,000, Placer County's multidisciplinary
interview center received $17,262 and the Forest Foundation and
Antelope Creek Elementary School received $10,000 each. Sierra
Preschool Parent Co-op received $2,000.
