Thunder Valley Casino Sponsors Putting Children First Luncheon

Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County. The seventh annual
Putting Children First luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30
p.m.
April 8 at the Timber Creek Ballroom, Sun City Roseville. Individuals
will be recognized for having made a difference in the lives of Placer
County's children and families. Recipients will be Westfield
Shoppingtown Galleria at Roseville, business award; Deputy Larry Jenks,
Placer County Sheriff's Department, criminal justice; Sheryl Wilson,
Del Oro High School counselor, education; Dan Luper, Big O Tires, make
a difference; Liz Reego and Debby Ziegler, philanthropist; Karen Green,
Placer County peer court, social services; and Elizabeth Connolly and
Marisa Crawford, youth. Emcees will be Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty
from the "Armstrong & Getty Show" on Talk 650 KSTE and KQCA 58.
Premier sponsor is Thunder Valley Casino. Jessica Tavares, chairwoman
of the United Auburn Indian Community and the casino's business board,
said in a prepared release: "We commend both the council and its
volunteers who work tirelessly to create a safe climate in which
children can thrive and blossom." Individual tickets are $100;
