The Assistance League of Greater Placer presented the United Auburn
Indian Community with a national recognition award Monday during the
league's meeting at the Pioneer Methodist Church in Auburn.
The award was given in appreciation of a $50,000 grant that the
United Auburn Indian Community gave to the Assistance League in
2004.
The grant enabled the league to expand its Operation School Bell
program, which provides clothing, shoes, backpacks and school supplies
to needy children in Placer County.
