By Staff Roseville and Rocklin Today
ROSEVILLE - On Wednesday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m., the public is
invited to join local dignitaries, Sierra College faculty, staff, and
Foundation members for the grand opening of the new United Auburn
Indian Community (UAIC) Learning Resource Center at the college's
Roseville Gateway Campus. The new library and study center came to
being as a result of the generous grant from UAIC of Auburn
Rancheria.
The new facility will greatly improve access and quality of services
at the Roseville Gateway Campus. Assess to library and study areas is
known to have a direct correlation to enhanced student success in the
classroom. Many of these students will become our future nurses, fire
fighters and policemen, making this investment very worthwhile for the
entire community.
Additionally, this project will better serve the retirees in our
community who are taking classes through the Sierra College Osher
Institute Lifelong Learning Institute.
On hand to help celebrate the library's opening, will be
representatives of the United Auburn Indian Community including Kris
Martin, along with interim Superintendent/President of Sierra College,
Morgan Lynn, Dean of the Roseville Gateway Center, Diane McKnight,
Executive Director of the Sierra College Foundation, Sonbol Aliabadi,
and many other individuals involved in the production and completion of
this project.
Sierra College Roseville Gateway Campus is located at 333 Sunrise
Avenue in Roseville. For more information, contact the Sierra College
