United Auburn Indian Community and Thunder Valley Casino to donate $100,000 to area charities

WHAT:
The United Auburn Indian Community and Thunder Valley Casino are
helping mark the casino's third anniversary by donating $100,000 to ten
Placer County charitable organizations on Thursday, June 29 at both
11:00 a.m. and again at 8:00 p.m.
The ten charities are: Lighthouse Counseling and Family Resource
Center, Friends of the Lincoln Library, Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital
Foundation, Boys and Girls Club of Auburn, Magic Circle Theatre, St.
Vincent de Paul Society of Roseville, PEACE for Families, Rocklin
Historical Society, Assistance League of Greater Placer and Legal
Services of Northern California.
The United Auburn Indian Community has been impressed by the work
these charities do to improve the community as well as helping their
neighbors. Each organization will have representatives on hand to
receive their donation and make brief remarks. Tribal Chairwoman and
Thunder Valley Casino CEO Jessica Tavares, as well as Casino General
Manager Scott Garawitz will present each organization with a donation.
The United Auburn Indian Community, founder of the Community Giving
Program, owns and operates the successful Thunder Valley Casino. A
federally recognized Indian tribe, the United Auburn Indian Community
is a sovereign government, making the establishment of its
philanthropic fund even more unique. The Tribe receives no tax
advantage for making a charitable contribution to any group.
